Case Registered On 'Mahatma' Producer
The Moghulpura police have slapped cases against producer of Telugu movie `Mahatma' for not displaying the film's censor certificate on the wall posters and advertisements.
According to Moghulpura inspector D Raj Kumar, Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has issued U/A certificate to `Mahatma' movie, released on October 9. But the wall posters and press advertisements of the movie have not been carrying the certificate, which is against the law.
Based on a complaint lodged by VHP activist Hanumantha Rao, police registered a case against the film's producer C R Manohar under section 7 of the Cinematograph Act, 1952. The inspector said that the offence was cognizable and the producer could be arrested.
