It was an emotional moment for super star Rajnikant and Kamal Haasan. Both of them came together to receive the Tamil Nadu Govt’s best actor award from Chief Minister M Karunanidhi.Rajnikanth received the award for the year 2007 for his role in Sivaji and Kamal Hassan for 2008 for his performance in Dasavathaaram.
It’s a landmark year for both the actors. Kamal Hassan celebrates fifty years in cinema and Rajnikanth completes thirty-five years in the industry.
Says Rajnikant, "I thank all my fans and every one for holding me so long. Its 35 years since I entered films and 32 years since I became a hero.
Actor Kamal Haasan thanked director Ravikumar, who directed his last movie.
He said, "Even if I had not won this award I’d have definitely been a part of the audience. I promise to continue my work and will come here again for more such honours."(NDTV)
